I love the pocket-sized cahier because I find them economical ($8.95 for 3 notebooks at the time of this writing), durable, and the 64-pages lasts several months the way I use them.  But the main reason I buy Moleskine’s is the paper.  Moleskin paper is legendary.  I have no idea why by it is a pure joy to write on them.  No other notebook even comes close (I’ve tried a lot of notebooks).

Some of the main things I use the notebook for include:

1.  Todo lists!  This is typically just a running list of things like – buy bacon, drop off UPS, buy stamps, call Mom, etc.

2.  Light research.  Vacation spots, cars, jackets, bags, wallets, whatever is my current obsession.  I like to keep the info from my current obsessions with me.

3.  Notes on stuff when you are out shopping or if you are with friends and they mention something specific you want to remember later.

4.  Random thoughts – I have a lot of random thoughts.  Some are work related, most are not.  I like having a notebook to jot down whatever comes to mind that I want to come back to later.  Blog post ideas, friends I haven’t seen for awhile, how much I need to retire, books I want to read, etc.

As I mentioned, these notebooks typically last me several months.  I keep it with me at all times, including when I’m at work.  The pocket size notebook fits in small purses, coat pockets and even in the back pocket of jeans.

Some of the complaints I’ve heard is about the durability.  Let me just say that I have had zero issues with durability and I am rough with these notebooks.  I bend them, jab them in my pockets, fold them all the way over, throw them in work bags, purses, coats, etc.  I have never had one cover fall apart on me.  Below is one that I finished using.  Still in really good condition.

After I’ve filled all the pages, I go through them and transfer notes I want to keep to my computer and  then transfer a few random things back to a fresh notebook.  Tip:  put your name and email address in the notebook so if it gets lost, there is a chance that maybe some kind soul may have the opportunity to return it.

This notebook is my constant companion.  I wouldn’t change a single thing about it.
